GSL-XIX WINNERS!

April 28, 2003

The Board of Trustees for the Nineteenth GSL International Model Car Championship is pleased to announce the conclusion of the latest contest.

GSL-XIX marked a new high point in the history of the GSL Tradition.   Never before in our history have we had so many high-quality builders, so many incredible models, so much fun, with so many States and foreign countries represented! Wow! It was great.  I hope that you enjoy the info below.

There were 509 models in competition entered by 157 competitors who came from 21 States, two Canadian provinces and Great Britain.  There have never been so many models in competition which were matched by 53 models on display, including three previous Best of Show models.

Additionally, the GSL Championship presented 13 instructional seminars, the Future of the Hobby Roundtable discussion, and a special presentation by Roger Harney (Monogram) and Tom Daniel. The Museum-benefit Museum was a great success, and the International Model Car Builders' Museum hosted two days of tours where almost 160 toured the Museum.

Thanks to all the competitors, the dozens of attendees, the sponsors, our guests and seminar presenters, and everyone else who contributed to the singular success of this premier competitive event.

 See you all in 2005!

          -Mark S. Gustavson
